Ingredients
Method
Pour coffee liqueur, vodka, sugar syrup and espresso coffee into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake all ingredients until the outside of the shaker is frosty (about 90 seconds).
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 coffee beans on top.
How to make the best espresso martini
Chill your coupe glasses for at least 20 minutes in the freezer prior to serving. The colder, the better. The quality of your espresso martini will also come down to what type of coffee you use. Instant coffee will technically work, but the final flavour wonโt be anywhere near as intense as it should be. Freshly-brewed espresso coffee is the best.
How to make sugar syrup
To make a simple sugar syrup, combine 1 cup water with 1 cup (220g) caster sugar in a small saucepan, stir over low heat until sugar dissolves, then bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer, for 5 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. On a hot day, place the glasses in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before serving to chill.
